Ladies,
Christmastime reminds us of God’s blessings, large and small, and that includes the people who we treasure most of all. You are all special to me and I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The 2012 year is quickly approaching and I would like to give you some information to mark your calendars for our important times together as the South Carolina Women Active for Christ.
The SC WAC State Meeting will be held at the Children’s Home in Turbeville on March 17th. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the meeting to follow at 9:00. Clint Morgan, Director of the Free Will Baptist International Mission’s Department will be our guest speaker. Amy Postlewaite, newly appointed missionary with her husband, Jonathan will give a brief overview of their burden for the country of Bulgaria. Please make plans to attend and hear the heartbeat of missions and our involvement in helping to spread the gospel.
We will be having a state retreat this year on September 28th – 29th at White Oak Conference Center in Winnsboro, SC. Our theme will be centered around a western ‘Round Up’. I would appreciate all of your help in ‘Rounding Up’ all of the SC WAC members and ‘strays’ to be a part of this special weekend. Our hearts will be challenged and uplifted as we hear from Sherry Carter, pastor’s wife from North Carolina. Sherry and her husband, Eddie will also be singing for us.. Of course, no retreat is complete without all of the fun we have planned for you.  You don’t want to miss our time together.
The total cost for 1 night’s stay and 3 meals will be $70.00. Please send $20.00 as a registration deposit to Cathy Logan, 1580 Potter Road, Lancaster, SC, 29720. The remaining sum of $50.00 will be due upon arrival. I will need the names and number of women planning on rooming together from your church sent to me; Pamela Hackett, 121 Springside Drive, Boiling Springs, SC, 29316. White Oaks does require we have the names and number for each room and those with special needs well in advance of our arrival. More information on the retreat will be sent out later. I am sure you will be blessed by attending the retreat. As always, we have a great program planned.
The WNAC delegates voted to extend the Home Mission’s project to raise $75,000 for the Hispanic Institutes at the July, 2011 meeting. This year has been a difficult time for many ministries financially. Please pray about what the Lord would have your group give toward this project. Your monies for this project can be given at our state meeting on March 17th.
